Kaarli Boulevard Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Kaarli Boulevard, I wasn’t expecting much from a 4-star place. But this hotel actually surprised me in the best way possible. The building sits right on one of Tallinn’s main arteries, and you know what? Instead of being all traffic noise and chaos like you’d expect, it’s positioned perfectly to give you that urban energy without the headache. The check-in was refreshingly smooth – none of that “we’ll have your room ready in three hours” nonsense you get at some places.
What really struck me was how the staff seemed to actually know their city. I mean, when I asked about getting to the Old Town (which is totally walkable from here, by the way), the front desk guy didn’t just point me toward the tourist traps. He mentioned this little shortcut through Tammsaare Park that locals use, and honestly, it became my favorite route. The rooms themselves have this clean, Nordic vibe going on – nothing flashy, but everything works exactly like it should. The beds are properly firm, the shower pressure is strong enough to wake you up, and there’s actually decent soundproofing despite being on such a busy street. I stayed on the fourth floor and could barely hear the trams rumbling by.
Here’s the thing that really sold me on this place – it sits in that sweet spot between the medieval charm of the Old Town and the actual living, breathing part of Tallinn where people work and shop. You’re literally a ten-minute walk from Toompea Castle, but you’re also right near that great indoor market on Keskturg where you can grab real Estonian food without paying tourist prices. The hotel doesn’t try to be something it’s not, which I respect. No fancy spa or rooftop bar, but the breakfast spread is solid (their black bread alone is worth getting up for), and the whole place just feels… reliable, I guess? The kind of spot where business travelers and tourists can both feel comfortable. Plus, if you’re driving, there’s underground parking – not cheap, but way better than circling the block for twenty minutes looking for street parking. The 9.4 rating makes total sense once you spend a night there. It’s not going to change your life, but it’ll give you a proper base to explore one of Europe’s most underrated capitals.

great location on edge of old town, lovely flat, nicely furnished and well equiped, and a very helpful host. Highly recommended.
What could be improved: near to a busy road that's quite noisy. Luckily the sound insulation is excellent when windows closed.Tina from Lithuania – 19 August 2024 (10/10)

Very spacious, clean with all mod cons. The beds are really comfortable and it is in a great location for the old town. The host Eve allowed us to check in early which was fabulous as we had a very early flight. The balcony was great for evening drinks. Eve also sent us information on taxis which was very helpful
