Juhkentali 46, korter 5 Overview

Okay, so Juhkentali 46, korter 5 isn’t going to win any design awards, but honestly? Sometimes that’s exactly what you want. I stayed here during a long weekend in Tallinn, and you know what struck me first – it’s genuinely quiet for being right in the city center. The apartment sits on the second floor of this typical Soviet-era building on Juhkentali street, and while that might sound intimidating, it’s actually pretty charming once you get used to the slightly creaky hallways and the fact that you’ll need to buzz yourself in.

The location is what really makes this place work. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from Viru Keskus shopping center, which is super handy for grabbing groceries or just wandering around when the weather turns (and in Tallinn, it will turn). What I loved was how easy it was to slip into the Old Town – just head down Narva maantee and you’re there in maybe ten minutes on foot. The tram stops right outside too, which saved me during a particularly brutal February morning when I definitely wasn’t walking anywhere. You’ll hear the trams occasionally, but it’s more of a gentle rumble than anything disruptive.

The apartment itself is pretty no-frills – think basic IKEA furniture and that slightly sterile feeling you get in most rental properties. But everything worked, the WiFi was solid (crucial when you’re trying to navigate cobblestone streets with Google Maps), and the kitchen had enough stuff to make actual meals instead of surviving on tourist restaurant food. The bathroom’s small but functional, and there’s decent water pressure, which honestly matters more than fancy tile work when you’re dealing with Tallinn’s unpredictable weather. I will say the heating took a bit to figure out – there’s this radiator system that has its own personality – but once I got it sorted, the place stayed comfortably warm. Check-in was straightforward enough, though you’ll want to coordinate timing since it’s not a traditional hotel setup. The 7.9 rating feels about right – it’s not luxury, but it gets the job done without any major headaches. For the price point and that central location, especially if you’re planning to spend most of your time exploring the city rather than lounging around, it’s actually a pretty smart choice.

Tallinn’s hotels showcase the perfect blend of medieval charm and modern comfort, with many featuring digital tour services and authentic Estonian hospitality.

Reviews of Juhkentali 46, korter 5

  • Ok for the price. Basics available. Info and comm could be improved – Tirli from Belgium – August 8, 2025 (8/10)

Price, practical location, free parking, beds/sofa ok

What could be improved: Information and communication (unclear which appartement was ours). Outside of the building looks run down. There was no cutting knife in our appartement.

  • Close to bus station – Anda from Latvia – August 3, 2025 (8/10)

    Good location, comfy beds.

What could be improved: The place is a bit chabby. We lacked tea towels.

  • A great value if you need to have a short stay – Pletneva from United Kingdom – May 26, 2025 (7/10)

Great location, just next to the bus station
    Cozy flat
    Has everything you need

What could be improved: I was told wrong wi-fi details via the message. When I asked about clarifications, the host replied around 2 am (I contacted them around 5 pm).
Also, you most likely will hear neighbours if they are at home.
If you have a heavy luggage – note, that there is no lift (but the stairs are quite convenient and the flat is on the 2nd floor)
Wi-fi is not of a very good quality. I could not watch the 40 min video as it would stop every 5 min saying the connection was not good.

  • Very Good – Maxim from United Kingdom – March 13, 2025 (8/10)

Good location, clean property, good value for money.

What could be improved: There is a box for teabags in the kitchen but not a single teabag. I had to find where to buy some teabags in the middle of the night.

  • Very comfortable option for travellers with basic needs – Alena from Finland – September 5, 2024 (8/10)

This apartment is located just behind the bussijaam. The building looks old, but the apartment is good enough:) It was clean in all the rooms. It is not a luxury accommodation, but for this price it is not possible to find it, if someone wants luxury. The price is very reasonable. Also, there is a possibility to take a pet with you. The host answered to our messages very quickly.

What could be improved: Probably the noise, and it will be good to bring some shower gel to the bathroom:)

  • Good value for one night – Galkauskiene from United States – July 27, 2024 (8/10)

The location was great! Close to the bus station and harbor

What could be improved: The outside building was shabby and intimidating

  • Perfect if you’re catching a bus. Close to the centre and supermarket across the road. Very clean and fresh. Good easy c – Regina from Canada – December 29, 2023 (9/10)

Very clean and new, great location near a shop and bus station, good WiFi, tea provided

  • Very Good – Ieva from Lithuania – August 15, 2023 (8/10)

There were a lot of space.

What could be improved: There weren’t enough wares. The hairdryer and iron were needed

  • Good – Ameli from Slovenia – July 21, 2023 (7/10)

What could be improved: No working WIFI.
