Hilltop Apartments – City Centre Foorum Overview

Look, when I first heard about Hilltop Apartments – City Centre Foorum, I’ll be honest – I wasn’t expecting much from what sounded like just another apartment hotel. But you know what? Sometimes the places with the most straightforward names end up surprising you the most. This 4-star spot really delivers on that city center promise, and I mean actually delivers, not just marketing speak.

The location is genuinely fantastic – you’re right in the thick of things without being stuck on some tourist trap street where you can’t find a decent coffee that doesn’t cost €8. I loved how I could walk to pretty much everything I wanted to see, but also slip down quieter side streets when I needed a break from the city buzz. The apartments themselves feel more like staying in a friend’s well-appointed flat than a sterile hotel room, which honestly made such a difference after a few days of exploring. The kitchenette situation is actually useful too – not one of those joke setups with a mini-fridge and a prayer, but proper space where you can make breakfast or heat up leftovers from that amazing restaurant you discovered the night before.

What really won me over was how the staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood. When I asked about good spots for morning runs, the guy at reception didn’t just hand me a generic map – he told me about this loop that takes you through some gorgeous quiet streets and back past a little market that’s perfect for grabbing fruit on your way back. That’s the kind of local insight that makes a stay memorable, you know? The building itself has this solid, dependable feel – not flashy or Instagram-perfect, but comfortable in a way that lets you actually relax. I never had issues with noise, which honestly surprised me given how central everything is. The 8.3 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it nails the things that actually matter when you’re traveling. The whole experience just felt… easy, I guess? Like, you check in, settle into your space, and then you’re free to go enjoy the city instead of dealing with hotel drama or hunting for basics you forgot to pack.

Reviews of Hilltop Apartments – City Centre Foorum

  • Stefano from Latvia – 20 March 2025 (7/10)

Very central position, nice sauna in apartment!

What could be improved: 1 window was without curtain: all night with city lights straight in the sleeping room

  • Sean from United Kingdom – 19 March 2025 (8/10)

Really nice apartment located just a two minute walk into the old town. A glazed balcony keeping out that winter chill, complimentary coffee, and a lovely shower

What could be improved: The instructions for finding the key for self check-in was like entering an escape room, but hey, maybe I'm just not very good at following instructions 😁

  • Radu from Romania – 12 February 2025 (9/10)

The apartment for us (2 people) was very good. The location in the city is perfect, close to the old town and the ferry, with many restaurants within a 5-minute walk.

What could be improved: the sofa is stained and, in my opinion, should be replaced

  • Vjatseslav from Estonia – 4 January 2025 (8/10)

    Location
Near to old town and Rottermann (stores, coffee shops and restaurants)

What could be improved: Some problems with water in the shower
The coach was not in best condition

  • Inkta from Latvia – 4 December 2024 (8/10)

Very clean, everything is fairly close. beautiful and comfortable apartment.

What could be improved: As i was with a 2 babies, crib for the babies wouldve been great.

  • Timo from Canada – 26 July 2024 (7/10)

Great location just outside the old city walls – able to walk to it from the ferry terminal as well. Close to lots of great restaurants, too.

What could be improved: The check-in process was weird. Why do we need to provide photo id's of the adults staying at the property? Some weird vestige of Soviet times? I've stayed in dozens of such places in many countries and have never had to provide photo id via an email of whatsapp message before. Plus, the need to do so was not communicated well in advance, and was buried in the final message to me from Booking.com. Plus, the location of the lockbox and the entry door itself was very poorly communicated. We encountered another family having the same exact difficulties as we were so it wasn't just us!

  • Kristina from United States – 20 July 2024 (9/10)

    location was excellent, spacious

What could be improved: it was hot in bed room to sleep, wish the window would open there, the fan made it better, also coffee machine was leaking, some wear and tear

  • Liana from Estonia – 22 May 2024 (8/10)

The apartment is super nice and in a fantastic location. Check in instructions were easy to follow. I'd recommend for a quick business or leisure trip to Tallinn.

What could be improved: The washing machine didn't work (I have a similar at home and I know for a fact this one is faulty or needs some adjustment). So I had to wash dishes by hand. Also, there's a construction in the apt next door and in my first morning there, the drilling started right after 8:00am. As per Estonian law, this is allowed- but I think it would be kind for the host to inform that there's a construction happening. I came from a long haul flight and needed a tiny more sleep which unfortunately I couldn't have due to the unbearable noise.

  • Selina from United Kingdom – 13 February 2024 (9/10)

Kitchenette & bathroom were well equipped, Location was superb. Easy to find and lock box was easy to use. Spotlessly clean.

  • Anna from Russia – 17 January 2024 (9/10)

Was very spacious apartment, warm and comfortable.
