Hampton By Hilton Tallinn Overview

Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of Hampton Inns across different cities, but Hampton By Hilton Tallinn actually surprised me in the best way possible. You know how sometimes you book a chain hotel expecting the usual reliable-but-forgettable experience? Well, this one’s got character – and honestly, that 9.2 rating isn’t just inflated review nonsense.

The thing that struck me first was how they’ve managed to blend that familiar Hampton comfort with something distinctly Estonian. I mean, you’ll still get your free hot breakfast (and it’s actually good here – proper local touches mixed with the standard fare), but there’s this understated Nordic design thing happening that makes the whole place feel more sophisticated than your typical business hotel. The lobby has this warm, almost residential feel with these great leather chairs where I actually wanted to sit and plan my day instead of just rushing through. What really won me over though was the attention to small details – like, the staff genuinely seemed to know Tallinn inside and out. When I asked about getting to the Old Town, the front desk guy didn’t just point me toward a tourist map; he told me which tram to catch and mentioned this little bakery I should stop at along the way (which, by the way, had incredible cinnamon buns).

The rooms are exactly what you’d hope for – clean, quiet, and that Hampton bed situation that somehow always delivers a good night’s sleep. I was on the sixth floor and could catch glimpses of the city between other buildings, nothing spectacular but nice enough. Here’s something practical: the Wi-Fi actually works properly for video calls, which saved me during a work meeting that ran long. And the bathroom had this rainfall showerhead that felt like a small luxury after walking around cobblestones all day. Honestly, my only minor complaint was that the air conditioning was a bit aggressive – had to fiddle with it to find the sweet spot. The location works really well too, though it’s not right in the heart of the tourist action. You’re about a fifteen-minute walk to Old Town’s main squares, which I actually preferred because you avoid the cruise ship crowds in the morning but can still easily get to everything. There’s a decent grocery store practically next door, and I noticed several good-looking restaurants within a couple blocks that seemed to cater more to locals than tourists. Parking was straightforward if you’re driving, though I’d recommend just using public transport – it’s efficient and cheap. What sealed the deal for me was the overall vibe of the place. It feels like they’re actually trying to give you a quality experience rather than just processing tourists through efficiently. The breakfast room has these big windows that flood everything with light, and somehow even at busy times it never felt chaotic or rushed.

Reviews of Hampton By Hilton Tallinn

  • Triin from Estonia – 28 March 2025 (9/10)

Clean, nice amenities, comfortable, good pillows

What could be improved: Maybe the breakfast had too few vegetable options

  • Teodora from Germany – 27 March 2025 (10/10)

The hotel is modern, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The rooms are spacious, and the bed is extremely comfortable. The location is also ideal – close to the city center but in a quiet area.

  • Väinö from Finland – 27 March 2025 (10/10)

Nice breakfast, friendly staff, nice room with nice view.

  • Sofia from United States – 26 March 2025 (10/10)

We only spent one night in Hampton, but we enjoyed it thoroughly. The rooms were comfortable and so pretty, albeit with little storage space. The staff let us keep our skis in the storage room. The breakfast had a wide variety of food, both sweet and savory, and the baked goods were great. Finally, the sauna was such a cool added bonus. It really helped us to relax during our trip!

  • Leanne from United Kingdom – 26 March 2025 (10/10)

Hotel was perfect for my stay. Staff were lovely and really helpful. Had the best stay in Tallinn. Beautiful clean hotel

  • Mary from United Kingdom – 26 March 2025 (10/10)

    Nothing to dislike

  • Jenny from United Kingdom – 26 March 2025 (8/10)

In the city, about 20 minute walk from the Old Town, the Hampton by Hilton Tallinn still has a good selection of restaurants nearby. The hotel is modern and clean, the staff professional and efficient. The bar area was nice and the room was spacious and comfortable, with a huge, comfortable bed and a great shower. The room was well-designed, with a desk area and smart TV.

What could be improved: The only experience with the restaurant was for a banana split which I returned as it bore no resemblance to the description in the menu. On the first day our room was not cleaned or replenished. Breakfast was nice but there could have been more variety (yoghurts and fruits, for example).

  • Brady from Ireland – 25 March 2025 (10/10)

    Very clean
Good choice of Gluten Free breakfast
    Great location

What could be improved: No choice of Gluten Free meals other than Breakfast… in the evening I couldnt order anything

  • Aliaksandr from Finland – 24 March 2025 (10/10)

New hotel. It looks great, it smells great, it has no issues. Breakfast is delicious, and homemade waffles! I think people would go here just for those waffles. 🙃
Bed was sooo comfy, slept as a kid.

    What could be improved: nothing

  • Leony from Finland – 8 January 2025 (10/10)

The breakfast was very good and we like all the food. Its very clean in the dining area, rooms and toilet, more space to eat in the dining hall highly recommended. 👍👍👍
