Great American Gallery Overview
You know what struck me first about Great American Gallery? The name doesn’t give away what you’re actually getting – this isn’t some flashy chain hotel, but rather this quietly charming place tucked right into Tallinn’s city center that feels more like staying in someone’s thoughtfully curated apartment. I mean, the address alone tells you something – Suur-Ameerika 22-25 puts you literally in the heart of everything, though honestly, most visitors have no idea how perfectly positioned they are until they start walking around.
The whole setup is refreshingly unpretentious for a place with such a stellar reputation (seriously, a 9 rating doesn’t just happen by accident). What I love is how it embraces that 3-star classification without trying to be something it’s not – the rooms have this clean, gallery-like aesthetic that actually matches the name pretty well. The walls showcase local artwork that changes periodically, which is a nice touch you don’t see everywhere. Check-in was smooth, no fuss, and the staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood well enough to give proper recommendations, not just the standard tourist traps. They pointed me toward this little café on Müürivahe that I never would’ve found otherwise.
Location-wise, you’re basically a few minutes’ walk from Old Town’s medieval walls, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the cruise ship crowds stumbling past your windows at all hours. The building itself sits on a quieter stretch, though you’ll still hear some city sounds – nothing too disruptive, just that gentle urban hum that reminds you you’re in the middle of things. Parking can be tricky in this part of Tallinn (like most European city centers), but there’s a decent garage nearby if you’re driving. Honestly though, once you’re here, you probably won’t need a car much – the tram stops are close, and most of what you’d want to see is walkable. I found myself just wandering the cobblestone streets in the evenings, which is really when Tallinn shows its best side anyway. The lighting hits those medieval buildings just right, and you get this sense of the city’s layers of history without feeling like you’re in some theme park version of Europe. That’s the thing about staying somewhere like Great American Gallery – it gives you a base that feels integrated into the actual city, not separated from it.

Reviews of Great American Gallery
Exceptional – Marta from Poland – August 24, 2025 (10/10)
The flat is very large and nicely decorated, there are many pictures on the walls. It is equipped with everything you could possibly need. There is also a coffee machine and very tasty coffee, as well as sugar, salt, spices, washing up liquid, soap in the shower…. The flat is about 25 minutes walk from the Town Hall. We felt very comfortable in this flat. In addition, the owner is super friendly, responded very quickly to all our signals and made it easy for us to pick up the keys much later than we had initially planned (key pick-up is usually in person). I would highly recommend this place!
There is no parking on site, but just opposite the building there is parking 7euro/24h (or 15 euros/3 nights using www.parkimine.ee/en/parking
Generally it is best to download an app, which makes paying for parking very easy.I would definitely come back! – Francesco from Italy – August 11, 2025 (10/10)
Super cozy and clean apartment. Very kind owners! They came to open the door straight away even if we were early.
They also offered us a complimentary wine bottle upon arrival!Very pleasant and great value for money – Kiwimcl from Ireland – August 10, 2025 (8/10)
The apartment is large and well equipped. It was easy to park directly across the road. We could walk or take the bus to the city centre
What could be improved: 6pm is a late check in time, especially if you arrive into the city early in the day.The apartment was very comfortable and close to the center – Jakub from Czech Republic – August 8, 2025 (10/10)
The accomodation offered a lot of tools such as toast maker or coffee machine. Whole apartment was very comfortable and l close to the center. The host lady was very amazing and I loved talking with her
Large apartment for short or long stay in Tallinn. – Petr from Norway – July 19, 2025 (10/10)
We were met by a hostess who showed us around. Apartment is very spacious and my children loved to space to bolter around on a bouncing ball. There is great decorations and lighting in the apartment and good coffee machine. Location is fine within walking distance to centrum of Tallinn. Bathroom is sufficiently large and spotless. Parking is paid (7 EUR/night) on the other side of the road.
What could be improved: All was fine.Wonderful – Kristine from United Kingdom – August 10, 2025 (9/10)

Nice, warm place, youtube for kids on TV.
What could be improved: Well its not flat or owner problem, just active location- very loud traffic through the night.Very Good – Taimar from Estonia – August 22, 2025 (8/10)
Väga puhas ja hubane.
What could be improved: Magamis voodid oleks võinud paremad olla.Exceptional – Julija from Estonia – September 15, 2024 (10/10)
Чисто и просторно!
Warte polecenia! – Margolene from Poland – August 5, 2025 (9/10)
Piękne, przestronne, funkcjonalne mieszkanie doskonale wyposażone we wszystko, czego potrzebujesz, a nawet więcej. Dogodna lokalizacja.
Geschmackvoll eingerichtetes großes Appartement – Doris from Austria – July 23, 2025 (9/10)
Sehr geräumig, super Ausstattung, geschmackvoll eingerichtet, gute Lage, sehr nette und hilfreiche Gastgeber, jederzeit gerne wieder.
What could be improved: Das Appartement liegt an einer stark befahrenen Straße, es war nicht möglich, das Fenster in der Nacht offen zu lassen, dadurch war es recht warm in der Nacht.
