The location is what sold me initially. You’re literally steps from Viru Gates – and I mean the actual medieval gates, not some tourist trap knockoff. Walking out in the morning with your coffee and seeing those ancient stone towers while heading into Tallinn’s Old Town never gets old. The apartment itself sits in this perfect sweet spot where you can duck into the cobblestone maze of the old city in two minutes, but you’re also close enough to the modern shopping areas that you don’t feel completely cut off from, well, normal life. I spent most evenings just wandering between the two worlds – medieval streets for dinner, then back to grab groceries at the Viru Centre when I remembered I actually needed toothpaste.

What really impressed me was how they managed to make a 3-star place feel way more upscale than its rating suggests. I mean, that 9.1 rating isn’t just inflated reviews from friends and family – the apartment genuinely delivers. The modern touches are thoughtful without being show-offy, and honestly, the kitchen setup is better than what I have at home (which isn’t saying much, but still). The whole space feels like someone actually lives there and cares about the details, not like a sterile hotel room where everything’s bolted down. You get proper wine glasses, decent coffee gear, and – this might sound weird – but the shower pressure is fantastic. After walking around those uneven cobblestones all day, trust me, that matters. The only minor thing I’d mention is that weekend nights can get a bit lively with people heading to and from the Old Town bars, but honestly, if you’re staying this close to the action, you’re probably part of that crowd anyway. Plus, the windows are good enough that it’s not really an issue unless you’re an incredibly light sleeper.
