You know what really caught me off guard about Das Appartement Tallinn? The moment I walked in, it felt more like staying at a friend’s incredibly well-designed apartment than some sterile hotel room. I mean, the 9.8 rating initially made me skeptical – honestly, what place is that perfect? – but after spending a few nights here, I actually get it.

The apartment setup is just brilliant for anyone who wants to feel settled rather than constantly living out of a suitcase. There’s this proper kitchen where you can actually cook (and I’m talking real counter space, not some sad mini-fridge situation), plus the living area has these huge windows that flood everything with light during those surprisingly long Estonian summer days. The furnishings hit that sweet spot between modern and cozy – clean lines but with enough character that you’re not wondering if you accidentally booked a hospital room. What I really appreciated was how they’ve thought through the little things that matter when you’re staying somewhere for more than a night or two. Proper closet space, decent WiFi that doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, and – this might sound silly – but really good lighting for getting ready in the morning.

Location-wise, you’re right in the thick of things without being on top of a noisy bar strip. I could easily walk to Old Town when I wanted that medieval tourist experience, but I was also close enough to some of the newer districts where locals actually hang out. The grocery situation is solid too – there’s a Rimi nearby where you can grab whatever you need without paying hotel minibar prices for a bottle of water. Parking was surprisingly manageable, which anyone who’s driven in a European city center will tell you is no small miracle. The only tiny critique I’d have is that the building can get a bit echoey in the mornings when people are heading out for the day, but honestly, if that’s my biggest complaint about a place, we’re doing pretty well. The three-star rating feels almost irrelevant here – it’s clearly more about the apartment-style setup than any lack of quality, because everything from the linens to the kitchenware feels thoughtfully chosen and well-maintained.
