CRU Hotel

I’ll be honest – CRU Hotel caught me completely off guard. You know how some places just have that feeling the moment you walk in? This is one of those spots. The lobby has this really interesting industrial-meets-boutique vibe going on, and I mean that in the best way possible. There’s exposed brick mixed with these sleek modern fixtures, and honestly, it works way better than it sounds on paper.

What really impressed me (and I’m pretty picky about hotels) is how they’ve managed to nail the details without being pretentious about it. The rooms are actually well thought out – like, someone clearly stayed in hotel rooms before designing these. The lighting doesn’t make you look like a zombie, the shower has proper water pressure, and there’s enough outlets that you’re not crawling under the bed to charge your phone. I know that sounds basic, but you’d be surprised how many four-star places mess this up. The beds are really comfortable too, which is sort of the whole point, right? Plus the soundproofing is solid – I barely heard the street noise, even though we’re talking about a pretty active area.

The staff deserves a mention here because they actually seem to know what they’re doing. Check-in was smooth, and when I had a question about getting around the neighborhood, the front desk person gave me specific recommendations that weren’t just the obvious tourist traps. That kind of local insight makes a huge difference when you’re trying to figure out a new city. The whole place feels like it’s run by people who actually care about hospitality, not just going through the motions. I mean, with an 8.6 rating, they’re clearly doing something right, and after spending a few nights there, I get it. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it delivers on the things that actually matter when you’re traveling – comfort, service, and that intangible feeling that you picked the right spot. Would I stay there again? Absolutely.
