Cozy Studio by Kristiine Centre Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Cozy Studio by Kristiine Centre, I wasn’t expecting much from the outside. It’s tucked away on Kotka Street in this sort of residential-meets-commercial area of Kristiine, and the building itself is pretty standard Estonian apartment block style. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t try too hard to impress you from the street.
The studio itself actually surprised me in the best way. It’s small, sure, but whoever set this place up really thought about how people actually live and travel. The kitchenette has everything you’d actually use – not just decorative stuff that looks good in photos. I mean, there’s proper counter space for your morning coffee, and the fridge is big enough for more than just a sad sandwich. The bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t spend the first night tossing around trying to find the sweet spot, which honestly happens more often than I’d like to admit in budget places. The bathroom is compact but well-designed – they managed to fit everything in without making you feel like you’re showering in a phone booth.
What really sold me on this place, though, is the location. Kristiine Centre is literally right there – I’m talking a two-minute walk to one of Tallinn’s biggest shopping centers, which sounds touristy but is actually super practical. You’ve got a massive Prisma supermarket, decent restaurants, and if you need to grab anything you forgot to pack, it’s all right there. But here’s the thing locals know – you’re also perfectly positioned to explore the real Tallinn. The bus connections from this area are fantastic (the 17 and 23 buses will get you pretty much anywhere), and you’re far enough from Old Town that you’re not dealing with cruise ship crowds stumbling around at all hours. I actually enjoyed the evening walks around the neighborhood – it feels like actual Tallinn, not the postcard version. There are some solid local spots nearby too, like this little café on Mustamäe tee that serves ridiculously good pastries.
The 7.7 rating makes sense to me – it’s not luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. Check-in was straightforward, the place was clean, and everything worked properly. Sometimes that’s all you need, especially if you’re planning to actually explore the city instead of camping out in your room. For the price point, you’re getting solid value and a genuine taste of how regular people live in Tallinn, which I honestly prefer to those sterile hotel experiences in the city center.

What could be improved: niewielka ilosc papieru toaletowego, gorąca woda, łatwo sie poparzyć, niewielkie łóżko jak na dwie osoby, daleko od centrumPleasant – Luciana from Finland – July 1, 2025 (6/10)
Easy access to city center and a shopping center nearby.
What could be improved: The building itself is creepy….but at least it was peaceful to sleep the only night we stayed.Small and cozy apartment. – Hermits from Estonia – June 28, 2025 (9/10)
Had everything you would need for a short stay.
Wonderful – Quentin from France – June 17, 2025 (9/10)
Disappointing – Jurča from Latvia – June 16, 2025 (4/10)
What could be improved: The communication with the host was very good. I have stayed in many apartments where you feel welcome, this was not the case here. I would like a few more things to be left to welcome guests – for example, toilet paper, bowls, etc.
