Cozy 3 story house in Old Town Overview

You know what really caught me off guard about Cozy 3 story house in Old Town? It actually lives up to its name – which honestly doesn’t happen that often with these rental properties. I mean, when I first spotted it on Sauna Street, I was expecting just another converted medieval building trying too hard to be charming. But stepping inside, there’s this genuine warmth that feels more like staying at a friend’s place than some sterile hotel room.

The location is pretty much perfect if you want to be in the thick of things without dealing with the tourist chaos on Viru Street. Sauna 10 puts you right in that sweet spot where you can walk to Town Hall Square in about three minutes, but you’re not hearing drunk groups stumbling past your window at 2 AM. I actually loved how quiet it gets at night – Old Town can be surprisingly peaceful once the day-trippers head back to their cruise ships. The building itself has that classic Tallinn vibe with thick stone walls that keep things cool in summer (trust me, you’ll appreciate this if you visit in July), and the three stories give it this cozy vertical layout that somehow makes the space feel bigger than it is. Plus, there’s something satisfying about climbing those creaky wooden stairs after a day of wandering the cobblestones.

What really sold me on this place was the little details that show someone actually cares about the guest experience. The kitchen was stocked with proper coffee – not those terrible instant packets you usually get – and there were these great local restaurant recommendations written on actual paper, not just generic printouts. You can tell they know the neighborhood because they suggested this tiny Estonian place on Müürivahe that I never would’ve found otherwise. Honestly, the 8.9 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed there. It’s not trying to be fancy or Instagram-perfect, but everything works exactly like it should. The shower has proper water pressure (small miracle in Old Town), the heating actually heats, and the beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with medieval torture devices. I did notice the stairs might be a bit much if you’re traveling with heavy luggage or mobility issues – but that’s pretty much standard for any authentic Old Town accommodation. For what you’re getting and where you are, this place delivers on the cozy promise without the tourist trap pricing you’d expect three blocks from the main square.

Reviews of Cozy 3 story house in Old Town

  • Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would definitely recommend this apartment – Meritxell from Andorra – July 29, 2025 (9/10)

The apartment was spotless and in a fantastic location. Very comfortable stay overall. Communication with the owner was excellent – they were quick, responsive and handled a small issue professionally. The sauna was such a wonderful bonus!

What could be improved: The only thing to note is the very steep stairs. Of course, that’s just part of the building’s design, so it’s not anyone’s fault, but it may be worth keeping in mind for guests with mobility concerns.

  • Charming aprtment with a great location & thoughtful host. – Emily from Canada – July 14, 2025 (9/10)

Excellent location, good amenities, lots of thoughtful touches (laundry detergent, razor, face wipes, fans, etc). Home has lots of character & charm. As a family of 4 we could spread out a bit. Also nice to have a second washroom. Quiet courtyard.

What could be improved: We were there during a heatwave- it could get a bit warm in the house despite the fans. However, this was an unusual circumstance. Some travellers noted the house as unsafe for children- while there are some gaps and tricky stairs it is fine for older children & teens. Consider offering the option of 2 keys.

  • Exceptional – Ruby from France – June 16, 2025 (10/10)

We loved this place! It's an independent little house, it's nicely laid out, very clean and comfortable. Peaceful location in a courtyard but right in the centre of town. Would definitely return!

  • Would go back – Kim from United Kingdom – May 3, 2025 (9/10)

Great location, everything you need is in property loved sauna especially on wet cold days. Little things like plenty of coffee toilet paper already there. Quick response from owner.A few little things needed sorting otherwise would have given it a ten

What could be improved: Not great for young children or very elderly, steps to bedrooms.

  • Wonderful – Ellise from New Zealand – January 6, 2025 (9/10)

Excellent location. Easy instructions provided to enter and we really appreciated all of the Christmas decorations and welcome sweets left on the table. Despite the central location, the place was very quiet tucked away from the nightlife noise. Very helpful and responsive host. Thank you for having our group 🙂

What could be improved: Toilet on the main level was out of order – we didn't mind too much and a sign was left.

  • Great place to stay – Jessica from United Kingdom – November 9, 2024 (10/10)

It's in a great location in the centre of the old town and it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Having a sauna in the apartment is just the cherry on top as well.

What could be improved: The short narrow handrail on the stairs up to the loft didn't make it to easy going down so I didn't sleep up there.

  • Very dangerous house, even for adults. Not professional work! – Tiina from Greece – October 15, 2024 (4/10)

Situation very good. Enough clean. Kitchen had all, what is needed – only there is not place actually to eat (small table next to door outside+ 2 chairs).

What could be improved: After some calls we were told its possible to check in hour earlier. Reality was, that we were waiting over the time what is normal check in. Out + raining with 4 small children.
Do never go there with small kids (like we did with 1, 2, 3 and 5 years old), since house is really dangerous for children; steps open from up to down, on highest floor even adult can fall, since there is nothing on one side of floor of the room – just open space to fall downstairs.
Toilet in the midlle room (made like into a closet) is almost a joke.
The bed upstairs was so bad that every spring seemed to come through the fabric – worst have ever seen.

  • Very Good – Chisato from United States – September 28, 2024 (8/10)

Nice room and has the Sauna

What could be improved: The host did not send us the guidance for check in until we asked them just before check in. And we had a question of facility usage, we could not get the answers.

  • I would gladly come back! 😌👍 – Family from Germany – August 10, 2024 (9/10)

Amazing location, super clean and really comfortable place to stay. There were also enough games to play with kids. Warm and dry rooms. I would definitely recommend it! 😃👍

What could be improved: You can't reach the property by car, no free parking around. Not the best view in the garden 🙃

  • Nice, clean and quiet place in the city Center. – Agnieszka from Poland – July 26, 2024 (10/10)

Nice, clean place in the city center. Two separator badrooms and livingroom. Quiet place.

    What could be improved: Nothing
