I’ll be honest – when I first walked into the Cozy 3-room Penthouse in the very Heart of Tallinn, I was a bit skeptical about the “penthouse” label. But you know what? The moment I stepped onto that top-floor space and saw the view stretching across Viru väljak, I got it. This isn’t your typical glass-and-marble penthouse, but it’s got something better – character and an absolutely killer location that puts you right in the thick of everything.

The place sits literally on Viru Square, which means you’re about thirty seconds from the medieval Old Town walls and maybe two minutes from all those cobblestone streets that make Tallinn so ridiculously photogenic. I mean, you can practically roll out of bed and grab coffee at one of the little cafés that line the square before the tour groups even wake up. The three rooms are laid out in a way that actually makes sense – not like some apartments where you’re wondering what the architect was thinking. There’s enough space to spread out your stuff (and believe me, after living out of a suitcase, that matters), but it still feels cozy rather than cavernous. The windows face different directions, so you get good light throughout the day, and honestly, watching the square come alive in the morning with vendors setting up and locals heading to work is pretty entertaining.

What really sold me on this spot is how it hits that sweet spot between being right in the action but not drowning in tourist chaos. Sure, it’s a 3-star place and you’re not getting marble countertops or a concierge, but the location more than makes up for any fancy amenities you might miss. I stayed here during shoulder season – late April – and while the evenings were still pretty quiet on the square, I imagine it gets lively during summer. The building itself has that solid European feel, thick walls that actually keep noise down, which was a pleasant surprise. Check-in was straightforward, no drama, and the host clearly knows the neighborhood well – they gave me the kind of local tips you can’t Google. The 8.6 rating makes perfect sense once you’re there; it’s not trying to be something it’s not, just a genuinely comfortable base for exploring one of Europe’s most underrated capitals.

  The apartment is very well-maintained and offers everything needed for a comfortable stay. The location is ideal, just a short walk from the Old Town, which makes exploring the city extremely convenient. Having parking available was a big advantage. Communication with the owner was smooth and effortless, making the whole experience stress-free. I would gladly stay here again.

  We are a family of 6 and for two nights it was plenty big enough. The location is excellent, a two minute walk from the old town and 15 min walk to the ferry.
  
  We paid £85 a night so have realistic expectations. The host was very pleasant, the apartment clean and all in all it was a decent place to stay.
  
  It’s not perfect but for 2 nights for 6 people it was good.
  
  The shower head didnt move so it’s set for people at about 5’5” and under. Two of the beds were creaky and not brilliant.
  
  However, it was clean, spacious enough and in the right location.
