City Apartments Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to City Apartments, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The name is pretty straightforward, maybe even a bit bland, but you know what? Sometimes that works in your favor. This 3-star place doesn’t try to oversell itself, and there’s something refreshing about that approach.

What struck me right away was how it actually feels like staying in someone’s apartment rather than a sterile hotel room. The units have that lived-in quality – I mean, the furniture isn’t brand new and shiny, but it’s comfortable and functional in a way that makes you settle in quickly. You’ve got proper kitchen setups (not those sad little mini-fridges with a microwave on top), real dining tables where you can spread out your laptop or have breakfast without crumbs falling into your bed, and honestly decent Wi-Fi that didn’t cut out every time someone else logged on. The bathrooms are nothing fancy, but the water pressure is solid and everything works like it should.

The 7.7 rating makes total sense once you spend a night there. It’s not going to wow you with marble countertops or concierge service, but it delivers on the basics really well. The staff at check-in were genuinely helpful – not just going through the motions, but actually listening when I asked about late checkout and giving me useful tips about the area. Parking can be a bit of a hunt depending on when you arrive (avoid Friday evenings if you can), but there are usually spots within a block or two if you’re willing to walk. The neighborhood has that authentic city vibe where you hear some street noise during the day, but it quiets down nicely at night. I actually enjoyed the sounds of people going about their lives – felt more real than those eerily quiet hotel corridors. One small thing that bugged me was the checkout process being a bit slower than I’d like, but honestly, when you’re paying reasonable rates for this much space and flexibility, you can’t complain too much about waiting an extra five minutes.

Reviews of City Apartments

  • Wonderful – Hannasy from Ukraine (9/10)

The apartment was clean, and the staff was friendly and brought us a hair dryer and an iron

  • Good – Andres from Estonia (7/10)

Cleanliness and the bed are top notch.

  • Cute little apartment that covers all your basic needs – Reelika from Estonia (8/10)

I enjoyed that the apartment was well thought out considering the small space. It had all the needed facilities and even more – it's possible to also cook a meal and wash clothes if the person staying needs just a little more than a hotel-like space. The location is really great, the old town was a lovely 20min walk away and there is a small convenience store right next to the building. Overall I was satisfied with our stay, it was a fun experience.

  • Very Good – Agata from Denmark (8/10)

It was located in a walking distance from the center, nice compact apartment, great for solo travelers

  • Good for a short stay – Anja from Croatia (8/10)

Has everything you need for a short stay, short walk from the center, easy to find. No problems with the door code.

  • Lovely place – all you need – Laisve from Lithuania (9/10)

The loft is great and clean and has everything you need. Great location. I loved the AC and fan.

  • Good location and nice appliances. A minor noise and privacy issue if at the street-side room. – Chun-tso from Switzerland (9/10)

Equipped with a small kitchenette and a washing machine even in such a small room. Easy access to tram and bus stations to travel to other places of the city including the airport. Only requires a short walk to go to the old town area. Convenient self-check-in by code.

  • Wonderful – John from United Kingdom (9/10)

No breakfast included. Location was only 10-15 mins walk south of Freedom Square, so good. Only snag was the late disclosure of the door code plus instructions for finding said door. No mobile phone? No access, for it was emailed to me very close to arrival. Since no. 5 is at the rear, and the building looks like a rundown cold war housing block without numbers, for a while I thought this might be a scam. After finding the door, however, I used the code to get in, and then it was like a modern hotel inside with facilities at a very high level.

  • Great space great price – Ronan from Ireland (9/10)

Very modern and well furnished close walk to centre

  • OK for a short stay – Ulrika from Latvia (7/10)

Convenient location, easy to access, small but equipped room, fast communication.
