You know what caught me off guard about A lovely apartment at the heart of Tallinn Old Town? The silence. I mean, you’re literally on Pikk street – one of the main arteries cutting through the medieval core – but somehow the thick stone walls just swallow up all that tourist chatter and cobblestone clattering. It’s this perfect contradiction where you can watch the world go by from your window, then close it and feel like you’re in your own little fortress.

The location is honestly ridiculous in the best way possible. I’m talking a two-minute stumble to Raekoja plats (that’s Town Hall Square for you non-Estonians), and you’re practically neighbors with some seriously old churches – St. Olaf’s spire is right there looming over everything. What I actually loved though was being so close to Pikk street’s quieter northern end, where the cruise ship crowds thin out and you get more of that authentic medieval vibe. The building itself has that weathered charm you’d expect from something that’s probably seen a few centuries come and go, but inside it’s been updated enough that you’re not roughing it. The 3-star rating feels about right – it’s not trying to be fancy, just comfortable and genuinely Estonian.

Here’s the thing about staying in Old Town that nobody really tells you: parking is basically a myth (there’s some street parking if you’re lucky, but honestly, just take the tram from the airport), and those cobblestones will destroy your wheeled luggage in about thirty seconds. But once you’re settled in, everything becomes walkable – and I mean everything. Telliskivi Creative City is maybe a 15-minute walk if you want that hipster coffee scene, but honestly, some of my favorite moments were just wandering the narrow alleys early in the morning before the tour groups descended. The apartment sits in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to duck into Olde Hansa for their medieval dinner theater thing (touristy but fun), yet far enough from the main square that you won’t hear drunk bachelor parties at 2 AM. With a 9.1 rating, clearly other people have figured out what I did – this place just works. It’s not going to blow your mind with luxury, but it gives you that authentic “living in a fairy tale” experience without the fairy tale prices.

  The cab is not available in this area.
  All the streets in the block are only for pedestrians.
  For anyone who is "lightly packed" it's no pproblem, but for us it was problematic to drag 23 kg luggage to the other street, where we were able to catch Uber.

  Apartment is in center of town, All places are reachable by walk hardly 15 minutes. Apartment is more spacious, big and clean. Restaurants are very nearby, we preferred Indian Restaurant which is reachable by walk less than 5 minutes walk. Good place to stay and enjoy tallinn.
